Sant Pere de Rodes’ Monastery
Declared national monument on 1930, near the monastery remain the ruins of the medieval village Santa Creu de Roda, only the pre-Romanesque church still standing. The origin of the monastery is surrounded by legends and archaeological and historical questions, which give the place a certain mystery flavour.
The guided visit to the monastery allows us you to discover its history, how the monks lived during its most splendorous period and discover the Romanesque art, present on its architecture, but also on the paintings and sculptures left on the premises.
The visits takes one hour and requires a booking in advance. They can be made in several languages, the price is 3 euros (free for children under 8 years old). On Tuesdays the entrance is free for everybody.
